Executive Director, Parenting Journey, Somerville, MA | Monica L. Zeno-Martin is Executive Director at Parenting Journey, a national nonprofit whose mission is to fundamentally transform family and community wellbeing by centering on strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches that help families and communities thrive. Monica has been fortunate to collaborate with community leaders, and those in the social impact and business sectors in areas ranging from social justice to trauma-centered care, education, and workforce development. Her work has included projects in countries in Africa, India, North America, and South America, and projects in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Parenting Journey, Monica served as Chief Program Officer and Executive Vice President at the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, and previously as Chief Program Officer and as Vice President of Global Partnerships at YouthBuild Global. Monica holds an Ed.M. with a focus on human development and psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.S. in Business Administration from Florida A&M University. She is a proud alumna of the 2025 Storytelling Community of Learning convened by Generations United's Grandfamilies and Kinship Support Network and ZERO to THREE. Monica is an active member of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association, the Harvard Graduate School of Education University Student-Alumni Mentoring Initiative, and of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In addition to NPEN, Monica serves on the boards of nonprofits focused on social justice, youth development, and education. She and her husband have two adult children and reside in Boston, MA. |
